“Threshold”
Artist: Robert Llimos (b. Barcelona, Spain, 1943,
r. Barcelona)
An expressionist human figure swabbed with colored strips stepping and looking through a rectangular frame, “Threshold” is a celebration of diversity and multiculturalism. Popular with visitors and Atlantans alike, it is located at Underground Atlanta’s Festival Plaza at the corner of Peachtree and Wall Streets. The sculpture was commissioned by the Cultural Legacy Initiative, which brought major permanent public works of art to Atlanta from Barcelona--the 1992 Summer Olympic City--as an Olympic cultural exchange.
